On a quest for energy-independence, the United States has entered into a new „gas rush“. Powered by new technologies and laws, a growing number of federal states have been flooded not only with previously inaccessible gas, but also lots of money.

Filmmaker Josh Fox witnessed this trend himself: having been offered 100.000 USD to make his garden available as a site for test-drilling, Fox decided to dig deeper. The result was a 24 state-tour and this film, Oscar nominee, documenting the shocking effects of the new „fracking“ method.
