The distinguished composer from New Jersey, was an eye witness of the attacks on the World Trade Center, as his office faced the skyline of New York.

For the 10th anniversary of the terrorist strikes, he composed a requiem, which will premiere on the 16th of October in Munich. It became a large-scale work dealing with the themes of war, loss, grief, and reconciliation. The requiem will be conducted by Philip Amelung, music director of the University of Tübingen, who will also be present on this retrospective evening at the the d.a.i.

The composer Randall Svane will include his personal impressions of the 11th of September 2001 into the talk and how he incorporated these into his composition Requiem for the Unkown.
