California is a state of tremendous diversity and high ideals. Historically being the destination for immigrants of various backgrounds in search of the %u201CCalifornia Dream%u201D, today the so-called %u201CGolden State%u201D has the largest population and the most powerful economy in the United States. On the other hand, California is also home to striking economic inequality, racial and ethnic tensions, and an overstrained justice system. Lucas Ogden, a native Californian, will discuss the culture, challenges and contrasts of his home state.
