Beschreibung

Talk by David Kimball, Missouri. Russian interference, hacking the electoral system, winning an election without the popular vote, a highly complicated registration process, and the failure to make Election Day a national holiday have led to one of the lowest voter participation rates in the developed world. Is the U.S. voting system in need of a fundamental update? Political scientist David Kimball will address efforts to reform the complicated election rules in the U.S. He will take a look at plans to change the Electoral College in presidential elections and a new way to draw legislative districts. His talk further includes procedures to increase voter participation as well as efforts to make voting more convenient and reduce fraud. David Kimball will further illustrate new voting technology and plans to make voting systems more secure from cyber threats.
