This film documents three post-Cloud-Gate dancers of different backgrounds, trainings, and aesthetics. Lin Hsiang-Hsiu goes to the US to study dance. Aboriginal dancer Bulareyaung Pagarlava grows up in the Cloud Gate Dance Company and then decides to leave it to set up his own dancing troupe. And Cho Shu-Yi, whose maturity grows out of poverty, is a distinguished dancer of the young generation. To present their dancing, this film employs the delicate form of the Dance film, taking the camera to the theaters, the rehearsal rooms, and the spaces of everyday life to film the three dancers in action. It covers a wide range of issues, such as gender, lyrical dances inspired by poetry, the relation of the body to music and dancing, and how distinct spaces form different dances. In addition to modern dance, director Hung Hung also interviews ballroom dancers, street dancers, and kids from dancing class, and inquires why people dance and why dancing makes people happy.
