Session with Dr. Markus Hünemörder, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Donald Trump is easily the most controversial candidate to win the presidency in recent memory, running on an anti-establishment, right-wing populist platform with radical political proposals and harsh rhetoric against minorities. How did this anti-politician win the presidency? How much of his radical campaign rhetoric did Trump already turn into actual policy? What is the state of affairs with the Russia investigations, and what are his challenges in terms of congressional politics, the economy, foreign policy and a deeply divided American society? Dr. Markus Hünemörder teaches at the LMU München and is an expert on law, history, politics and political culture of the United States.
